Systems Administrator II

University at Buffalo is hiring a Systems Administrator II. The role involves providing on-premises and cloud IT system support, designing and implementing new IT infrastructure and systems, and collaborating effectively with team members and university constituents to maintain high operational standards.

• Provide support for on-premises and cloud IT systems, including Windows servers.
• Design and implement IT infrastructure and systems for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Maintain effective communication with teammates, management, peers, and university constituents.
• Continually maintain and enhance technical and professional skills.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team within Enterprise Infrastructure Services.
• Experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure, Active Directory, MS Entra , PKI, Microsoft 365, VMWare, HyperV, HPE servers, Listserv, and VEEAM backup preferred.
• Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree with three years of experience or a master's degree with one year of experience in a computer/technical field.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States by the start date; sponsorship is not guaranteed.
• Salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 for a full-time, term appointment within the classification of Senior Programmer-Analyst.
• The position supports a 24x7 environment with possible extended or varied hours, including holidays.
