Email Marketing Technology & Audience Planning Manager V Remote Summary
We are looking for an experienced email marketer that understands the technical details of CRM and can help us coordinate and execute the technical aspects of email campaigns (as well as partner and support work around Salesforce Marketing Cloud and email deliverability) while my team member is on leave.
They should have at least 5 years of experience with email marketing, preferably with technical implementations, and not just writing or designing emails.
The individual should understand the technical aspects of email marketing, including deliverability, audience creation, data analysis, and other common Salesforce Marketing Cloud executive-level topics.
We do not need them to write emails. We need them to help us with the setup, technical planning, and audience creation elements.
They should be good at working across multiple teams, given they will be influencing rather than executing some of these requirements with our scaled marketing team.
Our company is seeking a Temporary Email Marketing Technology & Audience Planning manager (Temporary) to support the technical planning and setup of lifecycle and marketing programs, with experience running large-scale global campaigns on Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
In this temporary role, you will advise on deliverability considerations, audience and segmentation strategy, data readiness, and cross-functional operating processes so that teams can execute effectively at scale.
You also manage, with our scaled marketing team, the setup and implementation required to execute email marketing campaigns to our audience.
This role is intended to be time-limited and does not represent a full-time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance on Salesforce Marketing Cloud setup, configuration considerations, and operating best practices to support scalable email marketing programs
- Advise on email deliverability fundamentals (e.g., sender reputation, authentication concepts, suppression strategy, list hygiene inputs) and partner with internal stakeholders to align on recommended approaches
- Define and document audience creation and segmentation approaches (e.g., eligibility logic, data inputs, exclusions, holdouts), partnering with analytics/data teams as needed
- Translate business requirements into technical marketing requirements (data, audiences, tracking, measurement) and socialize plans across stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally (e.g., marketing operations, analytics, engineering/data teams, scaled execution teams) to drive alignment, unblock decisions, and support implementation readiness
- Review program readiness from a technical perspective (data availability, audience logic, measurement approach, governance) and recommend improvements
- Create clear technical documentation, playbooks, and stakeholder updates to enable consistent execution by delivery teams
- 8+ years of experience in email marketing technology, marketing operations, lifecycle/CRM, or closely related technical marketing roles (experience level may be flexible for exceptional candidates)
- Executive-level working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including audience/segmentation concepts, data model considerations, and operational workflows
- Strong understanding of deliverability drivers and how technical and operational decisions impact inbox placement and performance
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams and influence without direct authority in a complex, matrixed environment
- Experience translating business goals into technical plans and requirements (audiences, data inputs, measurement, governance)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort…
