Job Description Job purposeWe are seeking a highly motivated Application Support Engineer with 3-5 years of experience supporting business-critical applications within an investment management environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL, Python, production application support, incident management, and investment process understanding. This role requires close collaboration with business users, technology teams, and vendors toensure platform stability, data integrity, and seamless operational support.
Key responsibilities- Provide day-to-day production support investment and data applications, ensuring high availability and operational stability
- Monitor and resolve accounting, performance, pricing, and data quality exceptions.
- Support portfolio accounting, performance measurement, attribution, and benchmark processes.
- Monitor application health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
- Investigate and resolve application, data, and performance issues across multiple systems and databases.
- Develop and enhance SQL queries and Python scripts to support troubleshooting, monitoring, reconciliation, and automation.
- Partner with Operations, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Technology teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Perform application deployments, release validations, and post-deployment monitoring.
- Identify recurring issues and drive automation and process improvements to reduce operational risk.
- Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in on-call support and provide timely communication during production incidents.
- Stable and reliable platform operations.
- Timely resolution of production issues and exceptions.
- Successful delivery of business enhancements and platform improvements.
- Strong partnership with business users, operations teams, and vendor support providers.
- 3-5+ years of strong hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and operational support activities.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production support environment.
- Good understanding of relational databases, data flows, and ETL processes.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and incident management tools.
- Understanding of APIs, file-based integrations, and batch processing workflows.
- Exposure to asset management, hedge funds, wealth management, or capital markets environments is preferred
- Familiarity with investment operations, performance attribution, compliance, and risk management processes.
