Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) – Builders Risk Insurance Program

We are launching a new Builders Risk insurance program and seeking an experienced underwriting executive to lead the full buildout. This individual will serve as the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and own the strategy, design, and launch of the program from the ground up.

The CUO will architect and lead a brand-new Builders Risk program, including product development, reinsurance placement, underwriting guidelines, filings, and ongoing program management. This is a high-impact role for a senior underwriting leader with program-building expertise.

• Lead the creation and launch of a new Builders Risk program
• Develop policy forms, rating models, underwriting guidelines, and appetite
• Manage reinsurance strategy and negotiations with broker partners
• Oversee regulatory filings and compliance requirements
• Build the workflow, processes, and operational structure of the program
• Drive program strategy, profitability, and long-term growth
• Serve as the organization’s subject-matter expert for Builders Risk
• Experience building or scaling Property/Builders Risk programs (preferred)
• Strong background in reinsurance strategy and treaty negotiations
• Ability to design forms, guidelines, rate structures, and filings
• Executive leadership experience with autonomy to run a program
