Environmental Associate - Underwriting Development Program - June 2026

This role is part of the Underwriting Development Program. You will work in the environmental underwriting team to evaluate risks and determine appropriate pricing.

Base pay range: $47,000.00/yr - $/yr. Pay will be based on skills and experience.

We are looking for a collaborative, analytical thinker who can ask “What if?” and help determine whether Liberty Mutual should write a policy and at what price.

As an Underwriting Trainee, you’ll draw upon your strong analytic, communication, and negotiation skills to understand our customers and their needs, and to profitably accept environmental risks.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, RMI, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Sustainability or comparable.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making, and negotiating skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service.
• Willingness to complete professional designation(s) and continue insurance education.
• Permanent work authorization in the United States.
• Valid driver's license for regular travel to customer locations.
