Underwriting Assistant – Commercial Auto

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Lines Auto Underwriting Assistant to provide support to their underwriting team in New York City. This role is primarily focused on ensuring smooth operations by assisting senior underwriters, managing workflow between brokers and underwriters, and maintaining accuracy across documentation and processes.

• Perform quality checks on submissions and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Act as a liaison between brokers and underwriters, ensuring clear and timely communication
• Assist with billing processes and resolve related inquiries
• Support senior underwriters in handling day-to-day tasks and workflow management
• Maintain accurate records and files for underwriting activities
• Provide administrative support as needed to help drive efficiency within the team

• Previous experience in commercial insurance underwriting, with auto experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with brokers and internal team members
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and insurance systems
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
