Supervisor, Underwriting E & S

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned underwriting team in accordance with corporate and regional goals for production, profitability, retention and policyholder service
• Manage a book of business
• Support the development of agency and key account relationships
• Oversee the underwriting function
• Analyze and evaluate information and exposures on risks of increasing complex technical nature with a high level of authority

• Minimum four years of E&S underwriting with focus on casualty lines; including 1 year of leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to effectively assess risks, price, and negotiate business in accordance with established guidelines
• Advanced knowledge of current market conditions, trends, competition, and new products / coverages being offered by competitors
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making
• Thorough understanding of key exposures and portfolio pricing techniques
• Bachelor's degree or better
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Demonstrates expertise in E&S Underwriting with a focus on Casualty Lines, including risk assessment, pricing, and negotiation. Proven leadership in managing underwriting teams and developing agency relationships while ensuring profitability and policyholder service.
