Freelance Interpreter

We are hiring qualified freelance interpreters to provide on-site interpretation for New York, NY.

Assignments may include community events, educational support, and healthcare appointments.

• Facilitate accurate and effective communication between English speaking and non-English speaking individuals.
• Prepare in advance for interpreting sessions by reviewing materials and understanding context.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct.
• Collaborate with the Lingua Linx team members, clients, and other service providers to ensure effective communication.

• Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training Course. (Submission of certificate is required.)
• Proficiency in English and target language(s), both spoken and written.
• Adherence to HIPAA, strong interpersonal skills, and reliable internet connection for remote assignments.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to various environments and client needs.
• 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess valid U.S. work authorization.
• May be subject to a background check.

• Prior experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting.
• Comfortable with simultaneous interpreting.
• Professional certifications (CCHI, NBCMI, or state court certification) a plus.
• VRI experience preferred.
