About the Opportunity
Ad Astra, Inc. is actively seeking experienced Russian–English interpreters interested in receiving specialized training to support upcoming and ongoing in-person interpretation assignments with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in Riverhead, New York
.
We are looking for qualified interpreters who have previous professional interpreting experience, are willing to complete the required training, and can reliably travel to Riverhead for on‑site assignments.
Court certification is not required to apply. candidates must have prior interpreting experience and be willing to undergo training and any applicable qualification requirements before being considered for assignments.
What You'll Do
Provide accurate, professional interpretation between Russian and English during legal appointments, interviews, and other related proceedings.Facilitate clear communication between Russian-speaking individuals and legal professionals.Maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism.Follow applicable legal interpreting protocols and professional standards.Complete required training before accepting assignments.Travel to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in Riverhead, NY, for scheduled in-person assignments.Requirements
Fluency in Russian and English is required.Previous professional interpreting experience is required.Legal or court interpreting experience is preferred but not mandatory.Willingness to complete specialized training for the assignment.Ability and willingness to work on-site in Riverhead, NY 11901.Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.Ability to interpret accurately while maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.Authorization to work in the United States.Ability to meet any applicable client-specific onboarding and qualification requirements.Why Join Ad Astra?
