The Office of the Genesee County District Attorney is accepting applications for the position of an Assistant District Attorney. New York State Bar Admission required and criminal litigation experience preferred. Responsibilities will include the prosecution of a wide range of cases.

Applications should possess superior communication skills, have strong research and writing abilities, demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional skills, and exhibit the ability to work with other attorneys, staff, and the courts in a professional manner while functioning in a highly demanding work environment. Willingness to accept responsibility is essential. The application should anticipate many early opportunities for pre-trial hearing and trial work.

Ability to express arguments of law both clearly and concisely, ability to maintain satisfactory relationships with other County officials, police agencies, attorneys, and the public; ability to maintain good interpersonal working relations with co-workers; ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; ability to reason quickly and logically in stressful situations; ability to perform legal research; ability to analyze and organize effectively;

ability to prepare for and present cases in court and in Grand Jury; ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality; integrity; excellent judgement.

Salary range: $87,568 – $110,775 annually, salary commensurate with experience, with benefits; $15,000 stipend for CAP court
