In‑House Counsel – Labor & Employment
Fan Duel Group is the premier mobile gaming company in the United States and Canada. We are looking for an In‑House Counsel with a minimum of 3 years of labor and employment experience at a nationally‑recognized law firm or an internet/technology company. Reporting to the Labor and Employment Counsel Senior Director, this position will provide legal support for all labor and employment matters and work closely with multiple business teams.
Responsibilities- Provide legal guidance to Human Resources and other key business partners regarding all substantive employment law areas as directed by the Senior Director – Labor and Employment.
- Assist with employment legal advice in a broad range of matters, including employee relations, leaves, accommodations, wage and hour, immigration, and protective covenants.
- Draft and counsel on employment‑related documents, including contracts, offer letters, and agreements.
- Keep abreast of and address compliance issues under federal, state and local employment laws (FLSA, ADA, Title VII, FMLA, etc.).
- Assist with employment law‑related projects such as process reviews, new policy creation and implementation, and the delivery of training programs.
- Provide support on employment‑related pre‑litigation and litigation; oversee outside counsel as needed; pitch in on non‑employment related litigation matters.
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law and government oversight activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to relevant partners.
- Maintain up‑to‑date expert knowledge of employment laws, regulations and pending legislation.
- Build close relationships with personnel at supported business units.
- Provide sound business judgment, confidence, a sense of ownership, drive, and the aptitude to learn the nuances of the internet, technology and media businesses.
- JD from a top‑tier law school.
- Minimum of 3 years of labor and employment experience at a nationally‑recognized law firm or internet/technology company. California experience is a plus.
- Experience providing employment legal advice and litigating employment matters.
- Passion to work hard in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, efficient, and resourceful.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays if necessary.
- Knowledge of sports and/or experience in a heavily regulated industry is a plus.

The applicable salary range for this position is $126,000–$158,000 USD, which depends on relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. The role may offer medical, vision, dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; short‑term or long‑term incentive compensation; paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays.
