Department Overview
The Legal and Compliance Department consists of the General Counsel, the Chief Compliance Officer, Associate General Counsels, and several paralegals, legal assistants and compliance professionals. The Legal and Compliance Department coordinates, oversees, and handles all legal, regulatory and compliance issues globally. This individual will be based in our New York office and will report to a senior lawyer overseeing the relevant practice areas.
Job Description
This position will be based in our New York office and will provide corporate paralegal assistance to members of the Legal and Compliance Department.
Key Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Must have a strong academic background.
- Up to 2 years of corporate legal experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively legal matters, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels of understanding. This will include high-quality correspondence.
- Hardworking, motivated and professional.
- Analytical, very strong attention to detail and good judgment.
- Team player who is comfortable working independently or in a group setting.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other widely-used computer programs.
