Associate General Counsel

Millennium / Associate General Counsel Position

Millennium’s Legal department provides legal advice and guidance globally, covering all aspects of the firm’s business and operations. We handle the legal aspects of firm initiatives and numerous legally intensive projects.

• Support growth of business across structured credit investments, direct lending, ABS/RMBS/CMBS, synthetic risk transfers, CLO issuance, back‑leverage facilities, SPV formation and governance, private credit and/or debt capital markets transactions, and other illiquid asset classes.
• Independently run transactions end‑to‑end, partner directly with investment professionals and internal stakeholders, and manage external counsel and counter parties.
• Work directly with senior legal colleagues, investment professionals/risk, operations/middle office, compliance/tax/accounting in connection with investments in applicable asset classes.
• Liaise with outside counsel and counter party counsel as needed.

• Min of 5 years of experience in the Structured Finance / Debt Capital Markets group of a major U.S. law firm or legal department of an investment adviser.
• Strong command of deal flow in structured credit, leveraged finance, and debt capital markets.
• Solid understanding of hedge funds and applicable securities regulations, including relevant provisions of the Securities Act, Advisers Act & Investment Company Act and related MNPI, conflicts and fiduciary issues.
• Strategic thinker who can balance legal risk and business goals.
• Outstanding verbal and communication skills, with poise and confidence to interact with individuals of all levels.
• Proactive and efficient multi‑tasker, capable of working one‑on‑one with business partners in a highly dynamic environment.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we consider an individual’s experience level and qualifications to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
