Arent Fox Schiff LLP is seeking a Customs Associate with five or more years of experience for its New York or Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have strong, practical expertise in customs valuation, including transaction value, related party transactions, assists, post importation adjustments, and alternative valuation methods. Experience with complex supply chains, Section 232 value issues, transfer pricing interactions, and CBP valuation audits is preferred.

Additional experience in tariff classification, country of origin analyses, FTAs, duty mitigation strategies, and customs litigation is a plus. Candidates should be comfortable with direct client engagement and able to work independently and collaboratively. AFS has a large Trade practice and a robust customs team advising clients across multiple industries.

The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $275,000 to a maximum of $375,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.

In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus system with opportunities for associates to receive: hours-based productivity bonuses, cash bonuses for business generation and expansion, and merit-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding performance and contributions ranging from $10,000‑$200,000+.
