Medical Malpractice Attorney

A premier New York-based defense firm, recognized by Best Lawyers and known for its excellence in personal injury and medical malpractice defense, is seeking a Medical Malpractice / Liability Defense Attorney to join its expanding team in their Long Island office.

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 3–8 years of experience in medical malpractice and/or liability defense. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, exceptional writing and analytical skills, and the ability to handle cases with a mix of independence and collaboration.

• Manage all aspects of medical malpractice and liability defense cases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Handle court appearances and arguments with confidence and professionalism.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with clients, experts, and co-counsel.
• Draft and respond to discovery demands, pre-answer motions, and dispositive motions.
• Conduct depositions and develop case strategies under partner guidance.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys while maintaining the ability to work independently.
• Provide strategic recommendations for case evaluation and settlement.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in New York (required).
• 3–8 years of medical malpractice and/or general liability defense experience.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and client service.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, analytical mindset with enthusiasm for complex litigation.

• Base salary starting at $120,000+, commensurate with experience.
