A prominent NYC real estate law firm is seeking an experienced residential real estate attorney to lead and independently manage a high-volume, high-end NYC residential closings practice.
This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys full ownership of files from contract through closing, and is comfortable supervising junior attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient execution and delivery of excellent client service.
Role OverviewThe successful candidate will handle a substantial pipeline of residential transactions, including luxury condominiums, cooperatives, sponsor deals, and resales. You will serve as the primary attorney on matters, interfacing directly with buyers, sellers, brokers, lenders, and managing agents, while overseeing junior team members as needed.
This is a hands‑on, production‑focused role for someone who understands the economics of residential real estate work and can deliver quality at scale.
Key Responsibilities- Independently manage a high volume of NYC residential real estate closings from contract to post‑closing
- Handle cooperative and condominium transactions, including sponsor and resale matters
- Review and negotiate contracts, riders, offering plans, and closing documents
- Coordinate with lenders, brokers, managing agents, and opposing counsel
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants
- Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient closings across a large pipeline
- Maintain strong client relationships and a high standard of service
- Active New York Bar admission
- Significant experience handling NYC residential real estate closings independently
- Demonstrated ability to manage high transaction volume without sacrificing quality
- Experience supervising junior attorneys and/or legal staff
- Strong organizational skills and comfort operating in a deadline‑driven environment
- Deep familiarity with NYC co‑op and condominium practices and procedures
- Established NYC real estate platform with consistent deal flow
- Ability to focus on execution and leadership without business development pressure
