Patent Associate - Biotechnology

Location: Atlanta, GA | New York, NY | Philadelphia, PA

Salary:$230,000 -$320,000 annually

Overview

Our client is a leading national law firm seeking a highly qualified Patent Associate to join their Biotechnology team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with cutting-edge life sciences technologies while developing patent portfolios for innovative companies. The role offers the flexibility to be based in Atlanta, New York, or Philadelphia offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patent preparation and prosecution for biotechnology innovations
  • Conduct patent due diligence investigations and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Provide strategic IP counseling to life sciences clients
  • Draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements
  • Manage patent portfolio development and prosecution strategies

    Collaborate on IP aspects of transactions and licensing deals
  • Support patent enforcement and defense matters
  • Handle interparty disputes including IPR and interference proceedings
Requirements
  • 3-6 years of life sciences patent and IP experience
  • Graduate degree in molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Active bar admission in GA, NY, or PA (respective to office location)
  • USPTO registration required
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Outstanding writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in interparty matters preferred but not required
