Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Real Estate Attorney
Overview
EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by a top downtown Manhattan real estate law firm who is seeking a talented and driven mid-level Real Estate Finance Associate to join their New York office. The ideal candidate will bring 4–6 years of experience in real estate finance, with a strong track record of representing institutional lenders in sophisticated transactions. A background in commercial leasing and general real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures—is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities- Advise and represent institutional lenders (banks, debt funds, etc.) in a variety of real estate finance transactions, including:
- Mortgage and mezzanine loans
- Construction financing
- Loan modifications and workouts
- Draft, negotiate, and review loan agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related documentation
- Conduct due diligence, including title and survey review, and manage all aspects of transaction closings
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and third-party stakeholders (e.g., title companies, surveyors, lenders) throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Independently manage closings from inception to completion
- Engage directly with clients in strategic discussions and deal structuring
- Handle commercial leasing matters, including drafting and negotiating leases for office, retail, and industrial properties
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures by preparing and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, JV agreements, and ancillary documents
- Stay informed on legal developments and market trends impacting real estate finance and leasing
- D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar
- 4–6 years of relevant experience at a leading law firm or in-house legal department
- Deep understanding of real estate finance laws, practices, and market standards
- Proven experience in commercial leasing and real estate transactions
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions independently
- Familiarity with syndicated loan structures, intercreditor and co-lender agreements
- Experience with ground leases, sale-leasebacks, and mixed-use developments
- Knowledge of REITs, opportunity zones, or other tax-advantaged structures
