Description Purpose of Job
Examine abstracts of titles, leases, contracts and other legal documents to determine ownership of land. Work closely with senior management and collaborating attorneys to contribute to the development, review, and validation of plans, policies, and objectives; review policies and programs with a focus on risk analysis, problem-solving, and compliance.

- Draw up legal documents covering purchase and sale of land, draft deeds and affidavits, and present other evidence to meet legal requirements of documents. (30%)
- Review and analyze instruments prepared by attorneys and other parties, collaborating with counsel and internal teams to identify legal requirements, assess risk, and resolve title and transactional issues. (30%)
- Review all titles and settlement papers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with underwriting standards and risk mitigation objectives. (30%)
- Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%)
- Meet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.
- Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
- Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.
- Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.
- Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Minimum 0–3 years of legal experience, preferably in real estate, title insurance, or transactional law
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and risk awareness
Professional demeanor and ability to build effective relationships with clients, attorneys, and internal teams
Proficiency with legal and business technology (document management systems, Microsoft Office, and file tracking platforms)
Other- Admitted to practice law in the State of New York (active and in good standing)
$85,000.00 - $ annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience.
Potential for annual discretionary bonus.
