Location
: NYC or Washington, D.C.
Created by Big Law-trained practice leaders, and recognised by the likes of Legal
500/Chambers, I’m working with a highly regarded litigation boutique that’s looking to add a technology-focused patent litigator to its growing IP practice.
The firm is best known for one of the leading antitrust practices in the US. IP and litigation are now their main growth areas, and the plan is to build both to the same standing.
They've grown steadily and conservatively, with no layoffs, and aims to nearly double in size over the next five years...
The culture is collaborative and team-oriented, with little hierarchy and few committees. Matters are regularly staffed across offices, and teams are lean, so Attorneys take on meaningful responsibility early.
- 25+ full-time IP litigators, 300+ patent litigations handled over the past decade
- Recognized for its work where antitrust and IP intersect, including SEP and FRAND disputes
- A light conflicts base
, which suits attorneys with existing or developing client relationships
You’ll join a busy technology patent team handling high-stakes disputes for leading clients in semiconductors, AI, advanced computing, telecommunications and consumer electronics.
The team is currently stretched by a major ongoing litigation, so this is a chance to step straight into significant work alongside the partners.
- Patent litigation in district court and Section 337 investigations at the ITC, PRs and other PTAB proceedings
- Appeals before the Federal Circuit, trade secret and standards-related matters
- Direct partner contact and early ownership of key case work streams
- 3rd-year associate through to partner level
- A technical background in computer science, electrical engineering or semiconductors is strongly preferred
- Patent litigation experience gained at a well-regarded firm with a stable career history
- Partners and teams with portable business are welcome to apply
- Lockstep base salary (above market at every class year)
- A 2,000-hour target, with credit for pro bono and firm citizenship work
- Associates are credited for bringing in work
We can discuss full compensation details and the firm’s identity confidentially over the phone.
If you’re a technology patent litigator considering your next move, I’d be happy to arrange a confidential conversation.
