About

The Role

We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on Head of Operations (COO-track) based in London or NY to own the operational heartbeat of Auquan while building the foundations for long-term scale. This role blends people operations, financial oversight, strategic program management, and leadership enablement with exposure to board, investor, and CEO-level priorities.

The right candidate will not just keep the company running smoothly but will evolve into a strategic partner who drives company-wide alignment, builds operational muscle for growth.

Key Responsibilities People Operations & Culture
  • Manage PTO, equity grants, and company-wide policies, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Organize team offsites, all-hands meetings, and initiatives to strengthen company culture.
  • Oversee and manage benefit programs across all entities, including leading annual renewals, evaluating offerings, and ensuring competitive, compliant, and cost-effective employee benefits globally.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts: sourcing, interviewing, coordinating offers, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and maintain a positive employee experience.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee Google Workspace and other internal tools, ensuring smooth access and workflows.
  • Build and maintain company-wide processes that help teams stay aligned and productive.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and support leadership with project tracking and prioritization.
  • Work across three time zones (US, UK, India), coordinating meetings and communication effectively.
Financial Planning & Administration
  • Own the company’s budgeting process in partnership with leadership.
  • Track spend, manage expense reporting, and support investor reporting and financial forecasting.
  • Liaise with external accountants, payroll providers, and legal partners to ensure compliance.
Risk, Compliance & Infrastructure
  • Maintain the company risk register (legal, financial, operational).
  • Oversee data governance and security (SOC-2, GDPR, Info Sec reviews) to meet client standards.
  • Partner with counsel on contracts, fundraising, and corporate governance.
Investor & Board Operations
  • Prepare materials for investors and board meetings—shaping not just updates but strategy discussions.
  • Manage investor communications and help drive fundraising operations.
Leadership & Org Development
  • Partner with functional leads (Sales, Eng, CS, Product) to set priorities, unblock bottlenecks, and run leadership offsites.
  • Own org design and succession planning: structure teams, define reporting lines, coach managers.
Strategic Growth & CEO Exposure
  • Act as strategy partner to the CEO: drive annual planning, test GTM and product strategy, and align teams.
  • Step in for CEO in select investor or partner meetings.
  • Lead due diligence and integration support for strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities.
  • Design and execute crisis management frameworks (technical outages, customer escalations, PR issues).
Communication & Documentation
  • Shape internal communications, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with company values.
  • Maintain and improve documentation of processes, policies, and operational guidelines.
What We’re Looking For
  • 6+ years of experience in operations, HR, finance, or business administration at a startup or high-growth company.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience with hiring and recruiting, including building interview processes and collaborating with hiring managers.
