Siena University, a private, innovative, Franciscan liberal arts university, seeks a highly collaborative, enterprising, and strategic leader to serve as its inaugural Chief Experience Officer (CXO). Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the President’s Cabinet, the CXO will have the opportunity to shape and elevate the overall experience of prospective and current students, parents, and alumni.

The CXO will oversee Student Life, Enrollment Management, and Marketing while influencing and collaborating with all divisions across the university.

The CXO will inspire Siena’s close‑knit, relationship‑oriented, and highly committed community to evolve to meet the changing needs of students. Through collaboration, augmentation of institutional strategy, and integration of efforts and services, the CXO will build on Siena’s distinct mission and values to ensure a transformational student experience.

The role will combine strategy, service design, and cross‑functional leadership to foster a more student‑centered, responsive, and inclusive institution. The CXO will work with a strong team of direct reports who are experts in their fields, ensuring Siena remains competitive in a saturated higher education marketplace by highlighting its Franciscan mission and values, close‑knit community, and compelling value proposition.

The CXO will advance best practices and innovative strategies that effectively recruit and retain students, ensuring their success through timely graduation and meaningful career placement. Through these initiatives, the university will graduate alumni who are satisfied customers and remain engaged throughout their lives.

Anticipated salary: $230–$250K, in compliance with the Albany County Transparency Law.

Benefits include a retirement plan contribution of 10% of eligible compensation after meeting eligibility requirements, tuition reimbursement and exchange opportunities for eligible employees, spouses, and dependents. Employees also receive a work schedule with half‑day Fridays in the summer, an expansive holiday schedule (including up to two weeks off during winter break), complimentary breakfast Thursdays, access to community lectures and productions, gym and library memberships, and discounted/complimentary tickets to Siena Division I sporting events.
