Job Overview
In the role of Environmental Section Team Lead, we'll count on you to:
- Drive the growth of the RBG Environmental Program
- Identify gaps in our technical services and help develop requisitions for these technical skills
- Support existing staff development by assisting in the selection, training, development and management of technical personnel
- Support with the recruitment and hiring process of key production and investment staff needs
- Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
- Support with client and business development initiatives with new and existing NY/NJ area clients
- Demonstrate the ability to establish new business relationships and to grow existing accounts.
- Support the growth of the Resource Business Group's environmental practice
- Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
- Work with other RBG Section Leads to cross market and support environmental services
- Be comfortable meeting with new and existing clients and presenting HDR's services
- Perform Project Management roles on a variety of smaller and larger multi-disciplinary design projects for various clients
- Manage technical staff, leverage resources, and strategize how to solve project delivery issues
- Have experience in development and management of diverse teams
- Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
- Assist in ensuring that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
- Implement, monitor and support company policy
- Candidates who reside locally are preferred.
- Experience with municipal programs and/or work in NY/NJ.
- 15+ years of related environmental experience
- Ability to navigate heavily matrixed environment
- Master's degree in related field
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 7 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must

Expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
Location:
New York, NY: $107,170 – $191,375
