Borough Public Outreach Lead

Type: Full-Time, Contract

Pay Range: $48 – $55/hour

The Borough Public Outreach Lead serves as the primary field and administrative lead for community construction coordination and outreach activities supporting NYC DEP’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program (LSLRP). This role acts as the main point of contact between DEP, construction contractors, and community stakeholders.

• Lead and oversee all outreach activities within the assigned borough(s)
• Serve as primary liaison with NYC DEP, construction project managers, and contractors
• Plan, schedule, and monitor door-to-door canvassing and outreach operations
• Review and coordinate contractor work schedules to align outreach efforts
• Attend and represent the program at Community Board meetings, public meetings, and governmental events
• Manage incoming Right-of-Entry (ROE) forms, consent documentation, and program paperwork
• Track outreach metrics, construction timelines, and resident participation
• Conduct site visits and homeowner interactions when required
• Supervise outreach staff and ensure compliance with DEP protocols and safety requirements
• Prepare progress reports and ensure accurate data entry into DEP systems (LeadCAST)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in public works, government outreach, or community coordination
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing field teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GIS tools (e.g., Google Maps, ESRI)
• Comfortable working in residential settings and attending evening meetings
• NYC public agency or utility experience strongly preferred
