The APTIM Federal Services, LLC team is seeking ambitious Construction Managers who will embrace the technical and operational challenges of a high profile and critically important redevelopment project executed to the highest technical and data integrity standards as set forth by APTIM, the Navy, USACE, EPA, other federal and state regulatory agencies, and the neighboring communities. The Construction Manager is typically the field lead on the job and will be responsible for the field execution of the construction work.
Responsibilities include scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, monitoring craft performance, implementing safety programs, and ensuring conformance to building codes while maintaining accurate records.
Other responsibilities include monitoring craft performance relative to budget, schedules and deadlines, preparing and reviewing plans, coordinating work phases, resolving construction and architectural discrepancies, facilitating efficient use of personnel and equipment, and leading and directing the work of others.

- Establish and monitor project safety and quality programs
- Understand the Contract and the "as-sold" scope of work and budget, and communicate them to the project team
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and control the project in accordance with APTIM's established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements
- Provide leadership, direction and coordination for all project team members
- Through active risk management, protect the Company from unnecessary risks
- Ensure that the project meets or exceeds financial and cash management goals
- Identify and address potential project scope, schedule or budget changes immediately
- Supervise daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support, ensuring deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget
- Develop project review materials and financial forecasting, working with Project Controls
- Represent the project and the company to clients and maintain client relationships
- Organize work to meet deadlines set by others
- Build project team effectiveness and collaboration
- Mentor junior field staff
- Manage scope of work by identifying change conditions or work outside of scope
- Advise PM & BL Managers of issues and upset conditions
- Support the proposal process upon request
- Manage field work within the construction budget
- Understand the Project Metrics – expected production rates and productivity for each activity
- Understand Daily Burn Rates in dollars budgeted vs. actual
- Manage subcontract and vendor relationships
- Provide reporting requirements
- Assist in developing estimates and proposals
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of construction management experience
- Typically manages fixed‑price projects/programs with values up to $25M, cost‑reimbursable projects/programs with values up to $50M
- Prefer a bachelor's degree or professional registration/certification
- 40‑Hr HAZWOPER with refreshers
- First aid/CPR certification
- USACE CQM Training (for Federal)
- OSHA 30‑Hr Construction Training
- Computer/program skill sets (Office, Adobe, etc.)
- Strong verbal & writing skill set
- Work will be on military installments. Candidate must be able to gain and maintain access to multiple military bases through background investigations.
- Oversee a craft labor force 25+
- Experience with Union Labor and/or Project Labor Agreements (PLA)

- Excavation

- Soil processing (screen plant & conveyors)
- Mine reclamation
- Landfill construction
- Landfill capping
- Demolition (commercial/industrial)
- Experience working on chemically impacted projects
- Experience working on radiological impacted projects
- Experience with material potentially presenting an explosive hazard (MPPEH) projects
- Experience with emergency response or natural disaster projects
