Join to apply for the Director of Project Management role at Trendline Interactive is now Shift Paradigm

Overview

We’re looking for a player‑coach to lead our Project Management team of 5 to 10 PMs who orchestrate hyper‑personalized email programs for our major financial services client. This hybrid leadership role combines hands‑on project delivery with coaching a fast‑paced, high‑performing team that consistently delivers data‑driven results.

As a trusted partner to both clients and internal stakeholders, you will anticipate dependencies before they become blockers, translate ambiguity into actionable steps, and drive revenue‑focused outcomes. You will also shape the discipline’s best practices, optimize processes, and set the strategic direction for Project Management across SH/FT.

You’ll report directly to the SVP of Delivery Operations and maintain a strong dotted line to the SVP, Managing Director on the account.

What You’ll Do
  • Own multiple concurrent projects with cross‑functional teams and complex scopes, creating timelines, maintaining project plans, and proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and blockers before they derail delivery.
  • Navigate between structure and speed: apply the right methodology to each engagement without forcing a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
  • Monitor project health and profitability: track time, burn rates, and budget adherence; escalates overruns and risks before they become problems.
  • Lead and develop your team: hold regular 1:1s, conduct performance reviews, and provide continuous coaching.
  • Build the PM discipline: establish standards and best practices; drive process improvements across departments; balance team workloads and plan for work across all departments.
  • Support hiring and strategic initiatives: recruit PM talent, lead special taskforces, and provide high‑caliber problem‑solving across the business.
Who You Are

You’re equally comfortable in the weeds—reviewing a project timeline for errors—and at 30,000 feet—designing a new process. You use data to make decisions and, when things get ambiguous, you create structure and translate complexity into next steps. You see dependencies before they become blockers. You give feedback that is direct but kind, and your team knows they can count on you.

You foster an environment rooted in accountability, learning, and teamwork.

You’re proactive, solutions‑oriented, and relentlessly focused on the details that matter, yet you never lose sight of the big picture or the client’s goals.

Must‑Have Experience
  • 6+ years of project management experience in fast‑paced, agile environments (agency, consulting, or digital marketing)
  • 2+ years managing teams of 5 or more direct reports with proven people‑leadership skills
  • Deep expertise in email marketing as a performance‑driven channel; understanding lifecycle strategy, personalization, and how email drives revenue
  • Hands‑on experience with project portfolio management (PPM) tools and enterprise email service providers (ESPs)
  • Based in NYC and available for in‑person collaboration with our NYC‑based client.
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
  • Financial services sector experience (banking, credit cards, investments)
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification
  • Experience with Movable Ink (we can train on this)
Success in the First 90 Days
  • Build strong relationships with your team and key stakeholders across Strategy, Creative, and Technical teams
  • Manage major client projects hands‑on while providing oversight and guidance to PMs to deliver pixel‑perfect work
  • Identify process improvements and begin implementing them, especially in process and QA
  • Clients and internal teams see you as the person who makes things happen
