Title: Operations Director
Department: Support Services
Reports To: Lead Pastor & Elders
Salary: $55,000+ (Based on experience)
Hours: 40+ (Sunday 8-1. M-Th. 9-5. One mid‑week night.)
Benefits: 20 days annual leave plus week between Christmas and New Years
General Summary and Objective: Responsible for the oversight of all church operations, including finance, facilities, HR, and IT.
Position OverviewThe Director of Operations works to serve the church by being responsible for the administrative activities and daily operations of the WELL buffalo. This position is accountable to the Elders of the church and is supervised by the Lead Pastor. Duties include, but are not limited to, being responsible for budgeting and finances, information systems, risk management, human resources, facilities/property, office administration and communications.
In addition, the Director of Operations will manage staff related to these responsibilities.

- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in management or operations.
- Knowledge of administration or accounting
- Three years’ experience in church or another related administrative position
- Ability to work well with people
- Excellent management and communication skills
- Ability to make decisions.
- An understanding of buildings and facilities is a plus
As the WELL continues to grow and expand its reach, our systems and operations need to also. This person will oversee the practical organization in concordance with legal compliance of church ministries. The Director of Operations will work with Leadership Team to clarify and advance vision, goals, and strategy as well as oversee the following areas of Operations.

- Prepare annual church budget with input from trustees, church staff and ministry leaders.
- Monitor all church financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cash Flow) on monthly basis.
- Oversee the maintenance, custodial, property care, and security.
- Manage, approve and schedule building usage for all church facilities/campuses, in coordination with campus pastors or campus administrators.
- Recruit, equip and empower church partners and key leaders to help shoulder and further develop the operational aspects of the church’s ministry and mission.
- Oversee all human resources/personnel functions (salaries, benefit packages, hiring/exiting procedures, performance appraisals, professional development process, job descriptions, and updating personnel manual), with Elders and Lead Pastor.
- Maintains all personnel files in accordance with church policy as well as federal, state and local laws.
- Work closely with the leadership team on issues including, but not limited to, staffing, labor and tax laws, compensation, and benefits coordination.
- Oversee that church personnel are equipped with necessary computer and technology tools needed for their ministries.
- Ensure that Church Management System is maintained, utilized, and all communication systems are supported, with applicable departments and social media team.
- Ensure that day to day church office runs smoothly and efficiently, including office equipment and communication systems.
- Provide on‑going training for church staff to ensure best practices.
- Supervise administrative, operational and pastoral staff.
- Organizes the semiannual evaluation process including updating position descriptions.
- Provide leadership and facilitate team‑building in the above areas.
- Ensure proper employee orientation for all new staff.
