Description

Motek, part of Happy Corner Hospitality Collective, is an Israeli‑Mediterranean concept restaurant that prides itself on delivering exceptional service and culinary experiences to our valued customers. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of our operations, and we are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our management team. As we embark on our newest opening in Flatiron, we are seeking a General Manager to lead the opening and day‑to‑day at a soon to be open location.

Position

Summary

As General Manager you will be solely responsible for all aspects of the day‑to‑day operation and will oversee all front‑ and back‑of‑house functions, ensure consistent execution of brand standards, and foster a positive, high‑performing team culture. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑Day Management
  • Manage, lead and mentor floor managers and staff
  • Ensure service is maintained at the utmost quality levels
  • Develop risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Represent the GM in investigating, answering, and settling grievances in the absence of the General Manager
  • Maintain all corporate mandates, update and track daily reports
  • Staffing and team development
  • Analyze staffing requirements, develop iteration plans, and assess opportunities for future growth
  • Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants
  • Coach and train management staff
  • Responsible for team performance — morale, productivity, fiscal responsibility
  • Monitor activities and expenses
  • Assist in setting and monitoring sales forecasts and profitability reports
  • Keep C‑suite leaders informed of sales and key issues
  • Increase sales through marketing, networking and incentives for staff to raise guest check average
  • Manage budgeted revenues, cost of sales (COS), labor, supplies and operating cash flow (OCF)
  • Review monthly profit and loss statements and act on all variances

Requirements
  • Minimum 5‑7 years professional experience
  • Strong management skills
  • Strong influence, interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving and creative solution generation skills
  • General business acumen
  • Expert knowledge of all restaurant computer systems such as Resy, Open Table, POS systems
  • Able to quickly integrate into a team and be recognized as a leader
  • Able to delegate effectively
