Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 5 – Food Services to oversee food and nutrition operations at NYC Health + Hospitals / Woodhull
, a 250-bed acute care facility located in Brooklyn, New York
. This role supports one of Sodexo’s largest healthcare contracts nationwide and plays a key role in advancing innovative, plant-based and wellness-focused dining programs.

As the General Manager 5, you will provide strategic and hands‑on leadership for all food service operations while serving as a primary point of contact for hospital leadership. You will lead, mentor, and engage a union workforce of approximately 40 employees, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional dining experience for patients, staff, and visitors.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong client engagement, operational expertise, and a passion for improving health through sustainable, nutritious food.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead daily food service operations across patient, retail, and catering services
  • Champion innovative plant‑based and wellness‑driven menu programs
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, labor, and cost controls
  • Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership and key stakeholders
  • Lead, coach, and develop a unionized workforce, promoting engagement and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and Sodexo standards
  • Drive patient satisfaction, service excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives
