Fabricator — Trenching and Underground Utility Installations
• Full-time | Hourly | Clinton, NY

With over 21 million feet trenched and 63 million feet of utility products installed, we are leaders in enhancing power reliability and sustainability.

We are currently seeking skilled Fabricators to join our dynamic team. Fabricators at PLC Trenching play a crucial role in manufacturing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining metal components essential for our trenching operations.

• Fabricate and weld metal components using MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
• Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Repair, reinforce, and maintain metal components, addressing structural defects.
• Inspect fabricated components to ensure quality standards are met.
• Clean, grind, and finish welded components using grinders, scrapers, and power chippers.
• Preheat and prepare metal parts prior to fabrication and welding.
• Assemble components accurately based on technical drawings and schematics.
• Position and clamp work pieces or assemble in jigs or fixtures.
• Load and secure reel trailers with equipment and fabricated components, adapting to project-specific needs.
• Prepare and stock connex containers with necessary tools and materials for field operations.
• Maintain fabrication equipment and ensure a safe, organized workspace.
• Collaborate closely with our operational and field teams to meet specifications and deadlines.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, Arc) and metal fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail, quality control, and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings, including drug and alcohol tests.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.

• Prior experience as a Fabricator or in a similar role.
• CDL Class A or B is a plus.
• Forklift experience or certification.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and adherence to safety standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience and certifications:
  • No CDL: $16.00–$22.00 per hour
  • With CDL-B: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
  • With CDL-A: $26.00–$30.00 per hour
