Position Overview
Manager, Maintenance Engineering – ITT Inc. Supervise skilled maintenance personnel, oversee repair, overhaul, and preventive maintenance of production machinery and equipment. Assign work to maintenance staff and external vendors for all electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs. Ensure timely completion of jobs, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

- Make job assignments and distribute work to maintenance staff and vendors.
- Review and correct time and attendance records and job read‑outs.
- Order materials after reviewing job requirements.
- Follow up on assignments to ensure timely completion.
- Respond to phone calls and e‑mails promptly.
- Conduct job reviews and reassignments during emergencies and safety situations.
- Enforce company rules and regulations applicable to the department.
- Maintain and expand the preventive maintenance program.
- Communicate with the manager regarding department conditions and situations.
- Estimate job costs, considering materials and labor requirements.
- Lead team meetings to review safety, productivity and other critical issues.
- Issue work orders (shop orders, memos) for construction and safety work.
- Manage outside contractors to complete jobs.
- Operate within budget guidelines on capital projects and complete required paperwork (PARs, ESH, etc.).
- Collaborate with other maintenance supervisors in the Seneca Falls Operations.
- Investigate and write accident reports.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor.
- Strong SAP and office computer skills.
- Experience working with CMMS systems.
- Experience supervising union employees.
- Ability to schedule daily tasks for internal teams and outside contractors.
- Minimum 10 years of practical knowledge of manufacturing/machining equipment.
- Experience maintaining CNC machines, tool room machines and other manufacturing equipment.
- Proficiency with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic testing equipment.
- Professional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Electrical degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
