Location: Village of Newark
Operation of automated or semi-automated machines and production processes in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This position is responsible for following standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible per the documented procedures.
The entry opportunity for this position will be dependent on your experience and skill level and may range from Assistant Operator, Operator or Sr. Operator.
DutiesOperators will be or become qualified to run all machines (bartelt, jaguars, autofills and liquid lines), to produce various contract packaging products in accordance with documented work instructions.
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Operators will be or become able to set up each machine for use.
- Assist Maintenance in set up of machine as needed.
- Higher levels of this position will train and develop new operators and may make minor repairs and/or adjustments to machines with minimal/no supervision. Lower levels will learn these skills.
- Read and interpret work orders and/or machine diagrams.
- Maintain work center production quotas.
- Understands and applies quality product standards.
- Learn and maintain baseline knowledge of product scrap/defect issues.
- Keeps accurate counts, package and label product.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with others and constructively resolve conflict;

- Commitment to straightforward, honest and open communication
- Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food processing/packaging and/or flexible packaging a plus.
- Experience with ISO Standards preferred
- Ability to understand specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment when inspecting parts acceptability for further operations.
- Proficient in basic math skills.
- Ability to read tape measure.
At Maco Bag, base pay is one part of your total compensation package, and is determined within a range. The base pay range for these roles is between $16.00 and $22.00 per hour. Your base pay will depend on the level Machine Operator you are qualified for and your skills, qualifications, experience, and work history.

These position enjoy a 4 day workweek of Monday-Thursday and allow you to balance your work and away from work life. Position are available on both 1st and 2nd shift.
