The Production Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring packaging equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that products are packaged according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory standards, and company procedures, while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Essential Functions- Mixing:
Operates Small Ingredient Silo’s, Large Ingredient Silo’s, Mixer, Mill, Extruder, Brick Picker, Check weigher, Metal Detector, Palletizer machines, and auxiliary equipment to support the mixing operation in accordance with SOP’s and WI’s to produce bricks in accordance to productivity standards. Operators will also be trained on SAP and MII functions to support productivity standards. - Moulding & Trimming:
Operates manual and semi-automatic compression moulding/trimming machines in accordance with SOP’s and WI’s to produce moulded sheets of varied products from preform rubber compounds in accordance to productivity standards. Preforms Pre-control on rubber compounds in accordance to productivity standards. - Washing & Coating:
Operates washer, washing lift, container washer, oven, oven lift, coater, and auxiliary machines to support the washing and coating process including in process checks in accordance with SOP’s and WI’s to produce rubber stoppers in accordance to productivity standards. - Cleanroom:
Operates washing, packaging, vision inspection, steam sterilizer machines and other auxiliary equipment to support the washing, packaging, inspection, and sterilization processes including SAP interactions in accordance with SOP’s and WI’s to produce rubber stoppers in accordance to productivity standards. - Adheres to all safety rules in accordance with SOP’s, GMP as well as federal, state and local safety regulations. Expected to demonstrate our Company values and Code of Conduct.
- Regular attendance and punctuality required in order to meet production needs of customers. Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality. Works conscientiously and accurately, recognizes details. Identifies problems in time and strives to solve them. Collaborates on DPS initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Work under the guidance of Supervisor or Crew Leader to perform and complete the assigned duties in a timely manner.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working condition and work area is clean, safe and organized.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Duly follows organizational and work-specific instructions, attends applicable trainings and meetings.
- Fulfill tasks efficiently and in due course. Meet productivity standards (where defined). Can organize and perform work effectively.
- Abide by safety regulations at all times. Promote safety standards at workplace and in the team. Identify potential safety risks and report them actively to line manager.
- Demonstrate initiative to exceed common performance. Flexibly adopt changes in tasks, workplace, or team. Work reliably, keep agreements. Assume responsibility for tasks entrusted.
- Be open, respectful, and helpful. Contribute constructively with own skills to problem solving in team. Share and accept information and knowledge.
- Participate in department or quality team meetings. Suggest improvements and work alone or with others to implement improvements, as assigned.
- Train new operators and/or trainees as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
