Automation Technician
Automation technicians repair and maintain the computer‑controlled systems and robotic devices used within industrial facilities to reduce human intervention and maximize efficiency. Their duties require knowledge of basic electrical, electronics, mechanics and computers, PLC & HMI. Automation technicians perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
Where we need you Technician Responsibilities- Perform automation demand maintenance.
- Trouble‑shoot equipment issues – electrical, mechanical & controls.
- Answer technical questions for production.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedule in ALS.
- Perform PMs and record data into ALS.
- Adjust sensors on automation equipment and molds.
- Program Star Automation, Yushin & Arburg mold‑picking robots.
- Source and place requisitions for spare parts.
- Resolve part quality issues caused by automation.
- Provide support and gather data for quality validations.
- Participate in concept development for process improvement.
- Mechanical & electrical builds of automation equipment.
- PLC logic troubleshooting.
- HMI logic troubleshooting.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Robot programming.
- Understanding of injection‑molding machines.
- Ability to work with multiple departments.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong mechanical & electrical skills.
- CAD experience (beneficial).
- Ability to read schematic & mechanical drawings.
- Associate’s degree, trade school, or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant training & certification preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to stand for periods of time and climb short ladders.
- 20/20 vision to monitor automation processes and make fine adjustments.
- Manufacturing environment requiring appropriate eye protection and other PPE, clothing/shoes.
- Gowning and sanitation in a cleanroom for manufacturing.
Pay: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour
