- This posting is for our manufacturing facility in Macedon, NY.
- This posting is for our 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 4PM-12:30AM) & may include rotating weekend overtime.
The Processor Assistant helps to set up equipment for processing and will batch raw ingredients in accordance with cook cards and written batch instructions. This role works across many departments and functions, and therefore, will gain a broad understanding of the BRF production processes. This is the training role that leads to Processor and various advancement roles in the organization.
What You Will Do
- Batches food product in accordance with Cook Cards and process instructions.
- Lifts and pours ingredients and raw materials into kettles and processing equipment/machine, for the line.
- Verifies that all materials used are correct for product being produced by checking Cook Cards.
- Setup of equipment for processing operations in accordance with product specifications.
- Assists in the cleaning of kettles and batch systems, including pumps, utensils, and general area cleaning.
- Completes all required batch paperwork accurately.
- Adheres to safety requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and maintains food safety standards.
- The ability to operate a forklift (prior experience preferred) and complete the internal certification program.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Skills And Abilities
- Effectively read the cook cards, which are written in the English language, and complete batch paperwork.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate basic mathematical competencies including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of both fractions and whole numbers, and converting units of measurement.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
- Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, and face mask.
- Work Overtime (8-10 hours per week) to assist the organization in meeting customer requirements.
- Display the ability to multi-task and perform essential job duties with a sense of urgency.
- Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
