Production Equipment Support Supervisor (Day Shift)
Edgewood, New York
• Full‑time, Permanent
• Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year (starting January 5, 2026)
AZAD is seeking a Production Equipment Support Supervisor to provide direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics. The role ensures continuous production workflow, timely equipment repairs, and maintenance of the on‑site facilities in Edgewood, NY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain inventory of parts for all equipment, including ordering, vendor selection, and cost tracking.
- Monitor and schedule preventive maintenance records, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Stay informed of new technologies and equipment used by technical support and production operations.
- Assume all management responsibilities in the Department Manager’s absence.
- Accountable for meeting or exceeding Cost Per Unit targets, covering labor costs, overtime, and inventory control.
- Monitor and improve machine efficiency.
- Coach, counsel, motivate, develop, support, encourage, and instruct all technicians under direct report.
- Verify administrative work accuracy and monitor departmental procedures.
- Maintain records pertaining to department personnel.
- Manage a span of control of approximately 15–20 direct reports and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.
- Communicate daily updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.
- Monitor daily throughput and equipment downtime reports, providing feedback to personnel.
- Associate’s Degree or Technical/Trade School equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience with proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a high‑volume production environment, including performance reviews, leading by example, and fostering teamwork.
- Proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment; experience with electronics and electric circuits required.
- Electrical and electronics repair skills are a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with reporting tools such as Jet/IQ.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
