From your passion to ours. Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Machine Operator based in Buffalo, New York.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-shift operational inspection to determine condition of filling machine.
  • Set up filling machine and related equipment for product to be run.
  • Monitor filling machine during line operation to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational/mechanical problems in a timely manner to ensure an efficient, smooth flow of product.
  • Monitor package seal impressions, integrity, and product giveaway.
  • Change film in a timely manner to maintain a continuous, efficient flow of product.
  • Perform product changeovers as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule as required.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with production palletizer, lead person, and supervisor.
  • Perform proper sanitation of the filler before introducing the product.
  • Continuously monitor for abnormalities or inconsistencies in texture, shape, color, odor, or foreign material in or on the product.
  • Continuously monitor for proper code date, lot number, and operator code product to be packaged.
  • Familiarize self with all standard operating procedures.
  • Continuously monitor for proper product temperature during filling.
  • Continuously monitor the cup wash, ensuring that it is on and working correctly.
  • Continuously monitor the cooling spirals and investigate any problems.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.

    Qualifications
    • Basics mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
    • Food industry is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Must be dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
    • Education and/or

      Experience:

      High School Diploma/GED required.
