From your passion to ours. Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Machine Operator based in Buffalo, New York.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-shift operational inspection to determine condition of filling machine.

Set up filling machine and related equipment for product to be run.

Monitor filling machine during line operation to ensure proper operation and efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve operational/mechanical problems in a timely manner to ensure an efficient, smooth flow of product.

Monitor package seal impressions, integrity, and product giveaway.

Change film in a timely manner to maintain a continuous, efficient flow of product.

Perform product changeovers as needed.

Perform preventative maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule as required.

Maintain an open line of communication with production palletizer, lead person, and supervisor.

Perform proper sanitation of the filler before introducing the product.

Continuously monitor for abnormalities or inconsistencies in texture, shape, color, odor, or foreign material in or on the product.

Continuously monitor for proper code date, lot number, and operator code product to be packaged.

Familiarize self with all standard operating procedures.

Continuously monitor for proper product temperature during filling.

Continuously monitor the cup wash, ensuring that it is on and working correctly.

Continuously monitor the cooling spirals and investigate any problems.

Keep work area neat and clean at all times.

Qualifications

Basics mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
Food industry is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
Education and/or

Experience:

High School Diploma/GED required.
