The Print Operator supports the Production Operations team by operating cut‑sheet and high‑speed printing equipment, as well as perfect binding and stitching machines, to produce high‑quality printed materials for internal and external clients. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple print jobs, and a commitment to meeting quality and turnaround standards.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process print requests from the DDS Print Coordinator and Supervisor
- Operate cut‑sheet and high‑speed printers to produce assigned print jobs
- Assign and route jobs to appropriate printers using the Canon Workflow System
- Collaborate with supervisors, print coordinators, and production control staff to prioritize workloads
- Monitor print output continuously to ensure compliance with DDS and client quality standards
- Review printed materials for accuracy, completeness, and print quality
- Compare print request data with actual output to ensure correct job routing
- Notify the DDS Print Coordinator upon job completion for processing to the next production stage
- Stamp and track print requests for accountability and accurate production reporting
- Identify and report printer or file issues to management
- Coordinate with vendors (Canon, Ricoh, Bell & Howell, Horizon, etc.) for equipment issues requiring service
- Log vendor service calls according to DDS procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma required; some college preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a print production environment
- Experience with Canon or Ricoh printers strongly preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Self‑starter with strong initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and operate various print room equipment
