Lab Technician – Actalent
This entry‑level Lab Technician position will perform bench analytical and organoleptic testing of fragrances and related raw materials. The role involves sample testing using various methods, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring consumables are replenished.
Responsibilities- Perform sample testing for production and internal labs using organoleptic, physical, and chemical analysis.
- Conduct basic laboratory maintenance and cleaning.
- Ensure that all lab consumables are replenished in a timely manner.
- Comply with all safety rules and guidelines, and report any potential issues.
- Participate in the chemical hygiene plan and departmental safety meetings, training sessions, and activities.
- Perform performance checks and or calibration of instrumentation.
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Quality control and assurance
- Raw material handling
- Proficient analytical and organizational skills
- Proficient oral, written, and electronic communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and Good Lab Practices
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior laboratory experience in a college or industry setting
- Currently studying for or have achieved an A.S. or B.S. degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with batch mixing and handling samples
- Familiarity with Oracle systems
This role is based in an industrial environment where you may be exposed to mild odors. Safety equipment such as eye protection, steel‑toed shoes, and lab coats are required. The schedule is Monday‑Friday 11:00 am–7:30 pm, with occasional Saturday shifts (6:00 am–12:00 pm) approximately every six weeks; a Saturday shift is followed by a day off on the following Monday. Training lasts at least six months before permanent hiring.
