Material Handler

Sports field Specialties has an opening for a Material Handler for its NY1 location who can work independently and with others as a production team member. Candidate must be reliable and flexible with the schedule.

R
esponsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:

• Pick, move, and stage raw materials and in-process (WIP) materials as required by job travelers.
• Return unused materials to proper storage location.
• Collaborate with production scheduling, purchasing, operators, and production coordinators to assist in inventory counts and inventory troubleshooting.
• Safely and efficiently operate lift truck equipment including but not limited to Combi-Lift, fork trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Unload inbound raw material and transfer trucks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Skills:

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Solid organizational/prioritization skills including attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy skills.
• Strong quantitative reasoning (math) skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times demanding environment.
• Must be able to be certified and maintain certification on all lift trucks, including Combi-Lift.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in hot and cold environments.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Experience/

Education:

• Previous lift truck experience required. Combi-Lift experience preferred.
• Proven understanding of production flow and product knowledge preferred.
• ERP (Epicor) experience with demonstrated ERP navigational skills a plus.

Starting pay: $20/hour, the starting pay indicated represents the minimum pay for the position. The starting pay may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity. The posted starting pay reflects just one component of our total benefit/rewards package.
