As a Production Planner
, you will play a key role in supporting the timely planning and execution of food production across Fresh Direct's operations. You'll work closely with members of the Production Planning team to ensure efficient production scheduling that meets business targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You’ll assist with inventory management, coordinate cross-functionally with multiple teams, and help optimize production processes to support cost-effective operations.

This entry-level role is designed to build a strong foundation for future growth and deepen your understanding of production planning functions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Maintain and manage production schedules based on demand forecasts to ensure efficient use of production lines and resources.
• Partner with the Demand Planning team to align production plans with business forecasts and customer needs.
• Monitor semi‑finished and finished goods inventory levels to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
• Coordinate with procurement and operations to ensure material availability and accurate production execution.
• Identify and support opportunities to reduce costs through process improvement, waste reduction, and efficient resource allocation.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with production, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist in developing contingency plans to mitigate production disruptions such as equipment failures or supply chain delays.

• Previous experience in food production or a related industry (internship or entry-level experience welcome).
• Basic understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross‑functionally.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Salary range $72K-$85k
