About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Industrial Spray Painter to join our sign fabrication shop. You'll prep, prime, and finish custom sign components, including channel letters, cabinets, aluminum panels, posts, and monument signs. Your finish is the last thing customers see. If you take pride in a clean, color-accurate result and know your way around a spray booth, we'd like to hear from you.

This is a good fit for painters with a background in automotive refinishing, industrial coatings, metal finishing, or sign painting.

What You'll Do
  • Prep surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, masking, and priming aluminum, steel, acrylic, and PVC
  • Spray primers, base coats, and clear coats using HVLP, conventional, and airless spray guns
  • Mix and tint paint to PMS, Matthews, Akzo Nobel, and custom colors, and verify each color match before finishing
  • Inspect parts for runs, orange peel, dust, and adhesion, and fix defects before parts move to assembly
  • Operate and maintain the spray booth, including filters, airflow checks, and cleaning guns and equipment daily
  • Track paint inventory and record coatings usage for VOC compliance
  • Follow safety and hazardous waste procedures
  • Help the fabrication team with assembly, vinyl, and shop tasks when the paint queue is clear
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of spray painting experience (automotive, industrial, sign, or metal finishing)
  • Hands-on experience with HVLP spray equipment and two-part (catalyzed) coatings
  • Ability to color match by eye and by formula
  • Ability to read work orders, measurements, and basic drawings
  • Normal color vision
  • Ability to pass a respirator medical evaluation and fit test
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to meet production deadlines
Nice to Have
  • Experience finishing aluminum and acrylic sign components
  • Familiarity with Matthews Paint or Akzo Nobel coating systems
  • Experience with computerized paint mixing or tinting systems
  • OSHA 10, hazmat, or spray booth safety training
  • Forklift certification (we'll train the right candidate)
  • Valid driver's license
Pay & Benefits
  • $24–$28 per hour, based on experience
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off: vacation, sick days, and holidays
  • Paid training and room to grow
Physical Requirements

Work takes place in a fabrication shop and spray booth. You'll be on your feet for most of the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and wearing a respirator and PPE for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations are available.
