Production Manager – Women’s Outerwear, Activewear & Sportswear

Location: New York, NY |
Schedule: Full-time, on-site 5 days/week

An established apparel company specializing in women's outerwear, active wear, and sportswear is seeking a Production Manager to oversee production operations across these categories. This role is central to ensuring product quality, on-time delivery, and smooth coordination between internal teams and overseas manufacturing partners.

• Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams including sales, planning, tech, fabric, design/product development, and overseas vendors/factory agents and offices
• Manage the production team's activities, adjusting to shifting priorities
• Oversee production timelines, negotiate critical time and action dates, and manage the approval process for each style
• Monitor and maintain adherence to the established Time and Action Calendar
• Communicate daily with overseas and internal departments to resolve issues affecting deliveries
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the production department
• Address logistical issues with internal departments, overseas offices, vendors, and agents
• Keep senior production leadership informed of issues that could impact quality or delivery
• Liaise with internal and external departments on matters affecting the production calendar
• Partner with sales on delivery extensions as needed
• Issue purchase orders to vendors and factories
• Create memos documenting shortages and overages
• Resolve and coordinate production issues through communication with design, sales, and tech design teams
• Monitor weekly WIP reports from factories and vendors
• Review and approve shipment extensions
• Approve vessel bookings with the import department

• 7+ years of production/sourcing experience
• Experience working with Costco and its full process and procedures
• Thorough garment and costing knowledge with strong factory negotiation skills
• Must be able to create cost sheets
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to work in the office 5 days per week
