Swiss CNC Machinist

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking experienced Swiss CNC Machinists for direct-hire opportunities with a growing manufacturer in Endicott, NY.

These positions are ideal for machinists who are comfortable setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and making adjustments to CNC equipment.

Experience with
Swiss-style lathes, Tsugami machines, and Fanuc controls is especially valuable.

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, machining centers, and related equipment
• Work with Tsugami Swiss lathes and Fanuc controls
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Complete tool changes, fixture setups, offsets, and basic program edits
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and production
• Work with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve equipment and process issues
• Help improve cycle times, throughput, tooling, and machining processes
• Support new product introductions and production ramp-ups
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
• Follow established safety, 5S, and quality procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Swiss-style machining
• Tsugami equipment
• Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls
• G-code and M-code editing
• Tooling selection and fixture setup
• High-volume manufacturing
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
