Communications and Social Media Specialist
Location:New York
The Communications and Social Media Specialist is an important contributor to Cadwalader’s digital presence, and the related content projects and processes, that are critical to the firm’s reputation and the Business Development, Marketing and Communications (BDMC) department’s service delivery and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and collaborating closely with the Communications and Public Relations Manager, all members of the BDMC department and other firm stakeholders, the Communications and Social Media Specialist will develop traditional and multimedia content for use across all internal and external firm channels (intranet, website, social media, digital and print collateral); handle day-to-day management of the firm’s social media channels, and selected website and intranet administration;
and have a key role in the leverage content and social media to advance our strategic business development and marketing objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Draft promotional language, including summaries of events, client wins and press mentions for website, social media, digital brochures, newsletters and internal channels.
- Manage the firm’s day-to-day social media presence, which currently includes Linked In and X, and serve as the go-to resource on social media best practices.
- Serve as lead for posting firm news, events and publications content to intranet, website and social media channels; collaborate with others who have intranet and website administrative responsibilities to ensure optimal client service.
- Serve as lead for podcast, photo collage/animation and video content requests, collaborating closely with the BDMC department, including the Graphic Design Manager for brand consistency.
- Collaborate with the BDMC department to leverage website and social media tactics as part of integrated strategies for all appropriate projects.
- Monitor, assess and report on website and social media via weekly activity updates, including engagement and other relevant metrics; and maintain an editorial calendar of upcoming campaigns.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to firm’s current social media presence, including paid posts, targeted expansion to other channels (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok) and revitalization of underused channels (You Tube).
- Contribute to the firm’s robust thought leadership activities, including assisting with selected content generation and all website and social media promotion of Cadwalader’s signature client-facing newsletters.
- Assist with the review of incoming content requests from department colleagues on a host of deliverables, including those related to our intranet, website and social media channels.
- Ensure that materials are delivered accurately and on time (related tasks include gathering precedents, editing, fact-checking, proofreading, compiling, collaborating).
- Other duties or special projects may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates for the Communications and Social Media Specialist role should have experience and proficiency in:
- Linked In best practices, including the platform’s different business apps
- Sprout Social or similar social media management platforms
- Online paid digital campaigns
- Podcast and video creation, production and dissemination
- Photography
- Designing social templates and similar digital assets through Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Audition, Photo Shop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects ) Libsyn, and other programs.
- SEO and GEO/AI techniques
