To help support our future growth as an agency, we are looking for an Account Assistant to join our team based in our NYC offices. This role is an entry‑level position designed to provide hands‑on exposure to communications, media relationships, and events across Karla Otto's design, arts, and culture clients. This role is ideal for a highly organized, curious, and motivated individual eager to build a career in luxury communications.
Working closely with account teams, the Account Assistant supports daily client activity while developing a strong foundation in media, storytelling, and cultural communications.
Key Responsibilities- Support account teams with meeting preparations, agendas, and client updates
- Assist in the execution of PR campaigns, product launches, and media activations
- Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities to increase product and brand visibility
- Track and compile press coverage across print, digital, and social platforms
- Prepare weekly and monthly coverage reports highlighting key results and opportunities
- Share coverage updates with internal teams and clients
- Support event planning, guest list management, on‑site execution, and post‑event needs
- Assist with showroom appointments, press meetings, and follow‑ups
- Help cultivate relationships with members of press through events and appointments
- Maintain media and contact databases
- Monitor industry trends, media movements, and competitor activity
- Support ad‑hoc administrative needs across the communications team
- Internship or entry‑level experience in PR, communications, marketing, or related field
- Strong interest in design, arts, culture, and creative industries
- Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Power point
- Salary Range: $40k-$45k
