OverviewWe are looking for a talented Supervisor, Strategy to manage the day-to-day Media Planning and Strategy functions for a well-known client brand in the CPG category. This person will support a team in the development and execution of high budget media plans for assigned business. In addition to orchestrating channel spend, the Supervisor will effectively leverage experience, knowledge, and skills to assist in strategy formation by conducting audience research, exploring competitive messaging, and developing category insights that support business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented leader who loves organization and puzzle solving. They are both analytical and thoughtful and can lead a strategic media plan with assistance from senior staff. This person is a strong communicator, writer, task manager, and mentor to their team. This position will manage several junior team member’s day to day, and reports directly to the Director, Strategy.
Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to strategic planning initiatives including deck writing, budget and channel allocation, and audience development
- Collaborate with and effectively communicate and present to clients, IAT partner agencies, management and internal teams daily
- Review client deliverables for quality, ensuring that recommendations and work product are sound and viable
- Closely supervise the implementation and execution of the media plan, which includes ideation, budgeting, scheduling and establishing benchmarks for control
- Support development of strategic approach and experience design by delivering channel ideas that support client objectives and by providing the link to reality of historical performance and in-market opportunities
- Research, interpret and evaluate available marketing and research data to develop media objectives and strategies
- Responsible for managing projects and resources for area of specialization
- Accountable for accuracy and media intelligence
- Resource for others to resolve complex questions/problems
- Supervise, motivate, orient, train, assign and review the work of direct reports
- Responsible for management and development of Associates and Senior Associates
- B.A. or B.S., preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
- Agency experience highly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in media and TV planning/strategy
- Experience in providing competitive reporting and insights
- Computer Skills/Software Knowledge:
Microsoft Suite, Media Radar (fka Kantar), Pathmatics, Flowchart Software (e.g. Media tools/Guideline), R/F and Optimization Software (e.g. NMI), GWI. Understand its capabilities and applications to translate data into actionable insights - Strong knowledge of all cross-channel media, with a drive for curiosity and passion for the client’s business
- Solid written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentation
- Demonstrate ability to learn new proprity software and processes quickly and proficiently
- Understanding of Activation/Negotiation team functions
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Understand the capabilities of each media channel to maximize the impact and components within each campaign
- Able to make independent decisions, rely on minimal supervision, use experience/judgement and identify priorities for themselves and their reports
