Part-Time Communications and Content Manager
The Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY is a trusted trade association that has served the construction industry since 1981. With a network of over 900 member companies in Western New York, the organization provides resources to promote member success, including advocacy, information sharing, education, networking opportunities, and programs designed to offer a competitive edge.
Role DescriptionThe Construction Exchange is looking for a dynamic and creative individual to serve as Communications and Content Manager. This part-time position is 20 hours per week, with three days in the office and two days remote. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer with social media and client communications experience. The Communications and Content Manager is responsible for digital and print communication with the 900+ members.
Responsibilities- Managing vendors and writers, overseeing design, layout and production for the twice-per-year Building Western New York magazine
- Promoting the Building Western New York magazine to members and article contributors
- Working with advertisers to ensure ads meet design specifications
- Researching and compiling information, writing, and creating the weekly digital newsletter for association members and the construction community
- Managing association social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Coordinating and overseeing print mailings to the association membership
- Compiling and reporting on data related to member engagement and the effectiveness of communications
- Developing and executing strategies to maximize the effectiveness of membership communications
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or content-focused roles
- Strong writing and editing skills for social, email, print, and digital communications
- Hands-on experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand
- Proficiency in Canva for creating on-brand graphics and simple layouts
- Experience using Constant Contact (or similar email marketing platforms) to create, schedule, and deploy campaigns
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfort coordinating with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders
- High attention to detail, especially for emails, print materials, and mailed communications
- Basic understanding of email and social performance metrics
- Experience coordinating print mailings or magazine content (deadlines, specs, submissions)
- Ability to work independently in a part-time, self-directed role
- Familiarity with brand guidelines and maintaining consistency across channels
