Account Director, Financial Services & Corporate Communications

Location: New York

A leading strategic communications agency is seeking an Account Director to join its growing Financial Services and Corporate Communications practice. This opportunity is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys helping organizations navigate complex industries, build credibility with key stakeholders, and tell compelling stories in rapidly evolving markets. The agency works with a diverse portfolio of clients spanning financial services, professional services, fintech, asset management, banking, insurance, and broader corporate sectors.

Key Responsibilities Lead strategic communications programs across multiple client accounts

Serve as a senior advisor to client stakeholders and executive leadership teams

Develop and execute media relations, thought leadership, and reputation-building initiatives

Create compelling messaging and narratives around complex business topics

Build and maintain relationships with business, financial, and trade media

Oversee account teams and support professional development of junior staff

Identify opportunities for client growth and contribute to new business initiatives

Monitor industry trends and develop proactive communications strategies

Qualifications6-10+ years of public relations, corporate communications, or strategic communications experience

Experience in financial services, fintech, professional services, corporate communications, public affairs, or related sectors

Strong media relations capabilities and strategic communications expertise

Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead account teams

Excellent writing, presentation, and storytelling skills
