About Athletes First

Athletes First is a full-service management firm that has been representing elite players, coaches, personnel and broadcasters since its inception in 2001. Headquartered in Southern California, with offices in New York City, NY, Gainesville, FL, Austin, TX and Atlanta, GA, Athletes First is a staple in the sports representation business. Over the years, we've created a culture that's built around the two key components of our industry: exude extreme power while remaining intimately personal.

Role Overview

Athletes First is seeking a Social Media Manager to own the strategy, execution, and performance of the agency's social media presence. This role will build a cohesive social media ecosystem that serves multiple distinct audiences – from recruiting to fan engagement to corporate communications – including a dedicated fan-facing presence, all under one unified brand. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator who can set direction, build systems, and drive measurable results independently.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Own social media strategy end-to-end, driving alignment and accountability across departments and stakeholders
  • Develop tailored messaging and content approaches for the agency's varied audiences, including recruiting prospects and families, fans, media/industry contacts, and niche credibility-driven communities
  • Shape and evolve the agency's channel structure to ensure the right content reaches the right audience effectively
  • Build and grow a dedicated fan-facing channel, developing content and a distinct voice that deepens fan connection to the agency and its athletes
  • Build a structured content system, including defined content pillars, a centralized editorial calendar, and creative production capabilities (video, design, editing)
  • Plan and execute content around major industry moments and recurring seasonal events, as well as ongoing always-on storytelling
  • Capture video & still photography, create & edit user-generated content, and post to social channels using production & social platform best practices
  • Community management of multiple social platforms with a focus on increasing following & engagement
  • Identify resourcing needs and help scale the team over time as the function grows
  • Establish reporting cadence and KPIs to track engagement, audience growth, and content performance, adjusting strategy based on results
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of social media management experience, ideally in sports, entertainment, or agency environments
  • Experience managing multiple brand voices or audience segments simultaneously
  • Strong content creation and production skills, with comfort operating hands-on as well as strategically
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across departments
  • Analytical mindset with experience using performance data to inform decisions
  • Passion for sports and familiarity with the athlete representation or sports agency landscape a plus
What We Offer
  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance
  • 401k Retirement Plan
  • Cell Phone Reimbursement
  • Flexible PTO
  • Exposure to the highest levels of professional sports and a front-row seat working alongside elite NFL athletes, coaches, and front office executives
  • Athletes First is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
